Spine
The Spine, similar as in human anatomy, provides structural to the SPAH layout. The Spine not only separates raw material and finished goods areas, but also houses critical functions like laboratories. Placing labs close to the production process ensures that product quality and safety are never compromised |

Modular Layout
The production suites are organized as discrete modules around the Hub. This allows activities to be independently carried out within each suite, without interference to the other activities in other suites. More importantly, the modular design facilitates cleaning, maintenance and retrofitting to be carried out easily, leaving general production activities unaffected. This minimizes production down time while providing maximum flexibility. |

Maintenance Corridor
The SPAH design provides generous space for maintenance activities. The Maintenance Corridor surrounds the production suites allowing "Through-the-Wall" technology for production equipment to be used. This way, maintenance of production equipment may be carried out from the Maintenance Corridor. Engineers would no longer have to enter the production suites and compromising the cGMP environment. This greatly enhances regulatory compliance. |
